About me

Hello! I’m Zenia. Or Zen to most people. I’m a desktop publisher, working for an very large corporate insurance broker. For those who don’t know what that is, it’s kind of like a graphic designer+editor. Or at least that’s how I explain it. Most of the time I’m formatting forms, reports, and powerpoint presentations. Sometimes I get to create ads, graphics, brochures, sellsheets, and more creative things. I work mainly within the company brand, so I’m also called the brand police.

In my non-working moments, I rockclimb, play badminton, bake, play videogames, and dabble in all types of art (painting, wire jewellery, knitting, drawing). Lately I’ve been doodling a lot. You’ll see some of my dabbling on my personal instagram: @zen.tsui.ng

This is my blog for my journey on learning concept art. It has been something that I’ve always been interested in. I’ve always loved the backgrounds of videogames that I’ve played and seen, and I always wondered how someone could create something that beautiful. And I’ve finally decided to try and learn it myself. The internet has so many useful tutorials from so many great artists that I decided not to take a school course, but to learn online. You can also follow my journey at @zen.tsuing.art

As for videogames, I’m a fan of rpgs: Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Skyrim, Tales games, Zeldas, Rune Factory, Harvest Moons, Fire Emblems. (I never got into the FF series other than the ones on handheld systems.) I also play a whole lot of Dota 2 (support life ftw).

Let me know if you have any comments, tips and tricks, or just wanted to say hello.

Thanks for stopping by!
